The top five companies on Glassdoor’s list of 25 Highest Rated Companies for Internships in 2015 were tightly bunched together, with Facebook, No. 2 Chevron and No. 3 Google earning 4.6 ratings, while No. 4 Quicken Loans and No. 5 eBay each scored 4.5.
Glassdoor said of the results:
Why is Facebook so highly rated by interns? Glassdoor dug into Facebook company reviews, and its interns report a great company culture that embraces inclusiveness and creativity, feeling like part of the team, working with smart engineers and colleagues on projects that actually get built and impact billions of people.
Glassdoor shared two of those reviews. A software engineering intern based at the social network’s headquarters in Menlo Park, Calif., said:
Great culture, easy to talk to anyone you want throughout the company. I felt like I was given a challenging task and able to grow as an engineer.
And an intern in Facebook’s New York office wrote:
You are working on very interesting problems, which actually affect more than 1 billion people. You also learn a lot from people around you.
Readers: Are you surprised that Facebook is such a desirable location for interns?
