Prewriting and Brainstorming
The First secret to Writing Content – whether it’s an article to submit to an articles directory or an eMail Newsletter or web content for your site or social media – is how much do you know?
“I don’t know much,” I can here you saying, so what’s the answer? Every body knows some thing, when you talk to your friends; what do you talk about most, or what’s your main interest, what do you think about when your on your own? When you think about the answer, you’ll realise, YOU CAN WRITE!
The fear of writing is usually because of a lack of knowledge! Correct grammar and sentence construction is not difficult to learn. Start writing about what you know, and then try and learn as much as you can about other subjects that either interests you or you know are popular.
You will have to do some market keyword research to uncover subjects you would have never thought of or heard about. You will also uncover more subjects just by being more alert to what is happening around you on a daily bases.
Writing is an art, it just takes practice, any one can learn.
The Secret to Successful Writing
Learn how to write correct sentences. Successful writing means putting sentences together precisely. The second secret is to keep your sentences concise and short. This way you will have fewer errors. Now short does not necessarily mean simple, if you can say some thing in seven words instead of twelve, then say it in seven.
Don’t let your sentences run on? This is caused by missing punctuation, so try and learn correct punctuation.
Remember when you write, you will always have to edit your work. The first piece is never the final draft, you will have to edit and re edit several times, until you have it the way you want it, and you know it makes sense.
Replace rational words with emotional words, since people buy on emotion. You do this by not using intellectual, bland and boring words. Also don’t speak corporate babble that business people use to sound important.
As you start you’re writing career, try to keep learning, and don’t stop learning as much as you can. Many online copywriters are seven figure earners, and they started just by practicing consistently.
As you learn, build your portfolio – a copy writer’s rolodex. All the best copy writers in the world have a rolodex of their best work and drafts. Note; “Most writers only have two writing problems: first they don’t know how to write; second they think they do.”
